Lighthouse Award for Volunteering

The Lighthouse Award for Volunteering annually honors outstanding voluntary commitment in the education and upbringing of children and young people. Awarded are projects, initiatives, institutions, or volunteers who contribute to the promotion of social cohesion with creative concepts and sustainable impact. Nationwide, the Ravensburger Verlag Foundation supports exemplary work in areas such as family, institutional, and extracurricular educational offerings as well as democracy education. The sustainable development of young people is at the center: Through innovative pedagogical approaches and collaborative partnerships, impulses are set that become visible both in direct work with children and youth and in cooperation with professionals and families.

Eligible for funding are private individuals, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions distinguished by exemplary volunteer structures. Evaluation is based on the quality of engagement as well as the demonstrable impact on children and young people. The goal is to recognize exemplary concepts and thereby raise public awareness of their valuable work. The award promotes the exchange of experiences and offers recognition for the tireless commitment of the participants. Motivated by the prize, new impulses are unleashed to strengthen sustainable, inclusive educational projects nationwide and actively support social cohesion.
