Speech Therapy

The funding program Speech Therapy in Tyrol is aimed at people with disabilities who suffer from speech, language, voice, swallowing, and hearing disorders and have a specialist medical diagnosis. The goal is the preservation, initiation, improvement, and restoration of central communication and basic functions (speech, voice, breathing, swallowing, auditory perception, oral function). Individual speech therapy treatment is provided in individual or group settings, either mobile or outpatient, at the service providers' premises or in the home environment. Both diagnostics and therapy services, as well as the provision of aids, counseling, and guidance, are funded. With an annual therapy volume of up to 40 hours per person, the funding contributes to sustainably strengthening participation opportunities in social and professional everyday life and to halting deterioration processes.

Private individuals, companies, and public institutions based in Tyrol may apply at any time. A recognized disability in accordance with § 3 lit. a TTHG as well as Austrian citizenship or equivalence according to § 4 para. 2 TTHG are prerequisites. The main residence must be in Tyrol, and the measure must result in a noticeable strengthening of participation. Services are granted from the date of application receipt and can be utilized for a maximum of five years. Eligible expenses include speech therapy diagnostics, therapy services, provision of aids, as well as counseling and guidance. The application must be accompanied by the completed form, the specialist medical diagnosis, proof of disability, and other documents in accordance with § 8 of the Therapy Guidelines. Processing is carried out by the competent authority of the Department of Inclusion and Child and Youth Welfare of the State of Tyrol.
