Speech Therapy Services in Preschool Age

The state of Upper Austria promotes speech therapy care for preschool children through ongoing grants. Service contracts are concluded with providers who offer both screening examinations and subsequent therapies up to school entry in Upper Austrian kindergartens. The measure consolidates resources in the fields of health, children and youth, as well as labor & social affairs, and is aimed at all institutions that wish to identify and address language support needs at an early stage. There is no application deadline – applications can be submitted at any time, with the general funding guidelines of the state of Upper Austria applying.

Interested applicants such as associations, companies, non-profit organizations, and public institutions must demonstrably justify the needs of the children and meet quality standards. Regular reporting in the form of work reports as well as participation in coordination meetings are prerequisites, as are supervisory and quality assurance visits. To apply, an informal application letter must be submitted together with the current association register or company register excerpt, the latest annual financial statement, and a technical and financial concept. The funding aims to strengthen speech therapy services nationwide and to optimally prepare the transition into everyday school life.
