Management and Further Development of the State's Studio Programs

The art funding program of Styria offers a versatile national and international studio program that strengthens artists and art theorists of all disciplines through professional residencies as well as access to networks and presentation opportunities. Various calls, including international studio scholarships, Styria-Artist-in-Residence, KUNSTRAUM STEIERMARK, and Artist-in-Europe (WIELS), provide individual work and development phases in Styria and abroad. By combining artistic practice with theoretical exchange, creative diversity is sustainably promoted and the regional cultural landscape is internationally networked. Thus, the program makes a significant contribution to the profiling and visibility of Styrian artists on a global level.

The focus is on the continuous development and targeted expansion of the studio programs. New destinations, international partners, and large-scale event formats are strategically developed to meet the individual needs of the participants. Selection is based on international calls, an expert jury, and a decision by the state government. Eligible for funding are private individuals engaged in artistic or art-theoretical activities. Depending on the scholarship, specific application forms must be submitted, with deadlines varying according to the call. Interested parties receive detailed information on submission procedures and required documents within the framework of each respective call.
