Manfred Grommek Sponsorship Award for Young Violinists and Violists

The Manfred Grommek Sponsorship Award for Young Violinists and Violists, presented every two years, honors outstanding musical achievements within the violin masterclasses of the Kronberg Academy. Endowed by the Bad Soden Music Foundation Jürgen Frei, the award supports talented emerging artists with a prize of €5,000 and simultaneously offers a valuable concert performance opportunity in Bad Soden or its vicinity. The award ceremony always takes place during the masterclasses and constitutes a fixed event in Germany’s cultural calendar, ensuring both regional and international attention for the rising artists.

Eligible to participate are young violinists and violists who qualify for the violin masterclasses at the Kronberg Academy and demonstrate their skills there. The aim of the award is, in addition to financial support, to strengthen the practical musical experience and public presence of the recipients. As recognition of exceptional artistic quality, the prize opens doors to further engagements and supports personal development within the professional concert sphere. The call for applications is directed at individuals from across Germany; a separate application is made through admission to the Kronberg Academy’s masterclasses.
