Description

The Market Structure Improvement Directive in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania promotes the establishment and activities of producer organizations during the first five years as a non-repayable grant, as well as investment projects aimed at optimizing the collection, storage, cooling, sorting, market-oriented preparation, packaging, labeling, processing, and marketing of agricultural products. Eligible for funding are formally recognized producer organizations and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises whose activities do not simultaneously cover production. Applications can be submitted continuously from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2029; for approval within the same year, the complete application must be received by the granting authority by July 31. Project selection deadlines are March 31 and August 31.

Funding rates vary depending on the project between 10% and 60% of eligible expenses, with start-up and organizational costs of organizations subsidized up to 60% in the first and second years, decreasing in subsequent years on a graduated scale. An additional premium of up to 15% is possible for exclusive processing of quality products. Up to €100,000 can be applied for per year and up to a total of €400,000; the project duration is a maximum of 36 months. Prerequisites for investment projects include, among other things, proof of economic viability and sales opportunities as well as contracts with at least five producers (three for micro and small enterprises). Interested parties receive comprehensive information and application templates from the State Office for Agriculture and Environment West Mecklenburg.
