Funding objective
The aim of the funding is to enable people with disabilities to lead a self-determined life and to participate equally in society. Funding is provided for the acquisition of communication aids, specialized training for blind and visually impaired persons, assistance dogs, disability-appropriate equipment for private homes and apartments, as well as interpreting costs for persons with severe hearing and speech impairments.

- Only people with disabilities within the meaning of § 3 Z 1 Bgld. ChG are entitled to equal opportunity benefits
- Austrian citizens, persons entitled to asylum, or legally residing in Austria for at least five years
- Main residence and actual stay in Burgenland (exception: homeless persons with main residence confirmation)

Description
Within the framework of the Burgenland Equal Opportunities Act (Bgld. ChG), direct grants for social rehabilitation measures are continuously provided in Burgenland. The aim of this funding is to enable people with disabilities to lead a self-determined life and to strengthen their equal participation in society. Eligible for benefits are persons with disabilities within the meaning of § 3 No. 1 Bgld. ChG, who can prove their main residence as well as actual stay in Burgenland (exception: homeless persons with confirmation of main residence). Austrian citizens, persons entitled to asylum, and third-country nationals who have been legally residing in the federal territory for at least five years are eligible for funding.
Funding is provided, among other things, for the acquisition of communication aids, special training for blind and visually impaired persons, assistance dogs, disability-appropriate equipment of private homes and apartments, as well as interpreting costs for persons with severe hearing and speech impairments. Applications can be submitted indefinitely from 01.10.2024 at the competent district administrative authorities or magistrates. Supporting documents to be submitted include, among others, the fully completed application form, income proofs for the last six months, an expert report from the Social Ministry Service, medical findings, cost estimates, and other documents listed in the form. The funding offer makes an important contribution to accessibility and quality of life in Burgenland.
