MDM Awards at the TeleVisionale

As part of TeleVisionale, the renowned film and series festival in Weimar, the Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM) is once again awarding two prizes for outstanding German-language television films and series. Eligible to participate are producers and production companies whose works were created during the 2025/2026 production period. Submissions include television films and series competing at TeleVisionale from November 23 to 27, 2026. The aim of the awards is to honor the creative diversity and quality of German-language television and to further strengthen the media location of Central Germany. The MDM rewards innovative concepts and exemplary artistic achievements, thereby creating additional visibility for the awarded productions.

Companies from Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia benefit from this award by presenting regional film and series projects to an international professional audience. A prerequisite for participation is proof of a German-language television format from the 2025/2026 years as well as proper submission within the current application phase. In addition, the MDM awards provide a platform to strengthen networks between producers, festival organizers, and media professionals. In this way, the funding institution makes an important contribution to the sustainable development of the film and series industry in Central Germany and to the profiling of the region as a dynamic production location.
