Media Literacy and Media Education

The Media Authority Berlin-Brandenburg (mabb) supports pioneering projects in Berlin and Brandenburg through the program "Media Competence and Media Education." Private individuals, non-profit organizations, and public institutions can apply for grants to implement offerings in the areas of education, digitalization, and training & further education. Initiatives aimed at strengthening citizens' perception, usage, action, and design competence in dealing with digital and traditional media are funded. Both time-limited projects and long-term platforms and information services are supported – ranging from workshops and school projects to digital information portals.

Interested project sponsors submit a formal funding application along with a detailed project description and a structured budget plan. The funded measures must be located in Berlin or Brandenburg and explicitly address the field of media competence. This funding aims to enable citizens of all ages to use media reflectively, actively shape it, and creatively participate in future-oriented educational processes.
