Description

The Medical Research and Training Support of the Dr. Werner Jackstädt Foundation is aimed at medical doctors and natural scientists with doctoral degrees who wish to advance innovative projects focusing on ophthalmology (particularly age-related macular degeneration), nephrology (acute kidney failure, immunological kidney diseases), as well as geriatric hemato-oncology. Nationwide, individual project funding, symposia and training measures, as well as scholarships and junior research group programs are supported. Funding covers personnel and material resources as well as event and organizational costs. The goal is to finance excellent research projects, strengthen professional exchange, and sustainably promote young scientists.

Eligible to apply are research professionals active in Germany for individual projects, as well as organizers of training courses and conferences who mention the Dr. Werner Jackstädt Foundation in the event title. For scholarships and junior research group programs, medical doctors and natural scientists from both domestic and international institutions are additionally eligible, provided that affiliation with a German institution is ensured. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis: project outlines must be structured according to the guidelines of the German Research Foundation (maximum 10 pages), while applications for symposia and training courses require informal information on content, objectives, target groups, expected number of participants, and venue. The advisory board meets approximately four times a year to decide on funding approvals. Interested applicants can obtain all necessary application forms and further information on the Foundation’s website.
