Description
The Wilhelm Kempff Cultural Foundation invites once again to a prestigious Beethoven masterclass from September 19 to 26, 2026, at the historic Casa Orfeo in Positano. Under the direction of Prof. Louis Lortie, young pianists and musicians will dedicate themselves intensively to the 32 piano sonatas as well as the five piano concertos of Ludwig van Beethoven. Participants benefit from daily group lessons and the unique atmosphere on the Amalfi Coast, which has inspired artistic creation since 1957. Interested private individuals from the EU, who wish to elevate their artistic level to international masterclass standards, should submit a CV, a repertoire list of Beethoven works, and a program plan including two to three sonatas and one concerto, and confirm payment of the accommodation fee of €500.
A grant towards tuition fees will be awarded as the form of support; accommodation and meals are not eligible expenses. The course spans one month, with the intensive teaching block lasting one week. Applications are to be submitted using the official form and are aimed at young talents seeking funding opportunities in the fields of culture, music, education, and training. Through this, the foundation specifically supports emerging musicians and preserves Wilhelm Kempff’s artistic legacy in an environment that has stood for excellent Beethoven interpretations worldwide for decades.
