Description
With the initiative "Building Rental Apartments," IFB Hamburg supports the construction of affordable housing in the metropolitan region. Companies, cooperatives, public and non-profit organizations receive long-term loans with reduced interest rates to realize apartments with socially acceptable rents and modern amenities. In addition, construction cost subsidies as well as ongoing funding can be utilized, provided that rent and occupancy restrictions are adhered to. The continuously available funding helps to create planning security and minimize investment risks.
Eligible for funding are legal entities and municipalities located in Hamburg that implement new rental housing projects and guarantee rent and occupancy commitments for at least 30 years (optionally 40 or 50 years). Eligible expenses include construction costs, interest subsidies, and ongoing grants. Applications can be submitted throughout the year, allowing for flexible project planning. The measure makes an important contribution to strengthening infrastructure and urban development and promotes demand-oriented, sustainable housing construction in the Hanseatic city.
