Description
The rent and annuity subsidy of the State of Tyrol supports natural persons with their main residence in Tyrol in reducing the monthly burdens from rent and annuity payments. Since August 27, 2013, eligible applicants can continuously apply for a grant amounting to up to 80% of the documented housing expenses. The subsidy is granted as an indefinite aid for non-subsidized housing and covers an approval period of twelve months each. An extension is possible provided the conditions continue to be met and a follow-up application is submitted within three months after the expiration of the previous approval period. Monthly payments are made retroactively and are free of charge.
Eligible applicants include Austrian citizens or equivalent persons as tenants or holders of a non-subsidized apartment, as well as third-country nationals with at least five years of residence in Tyrol. The application must include, among other documents, the annual wage slip from the previous calendar year, the current income tax assessment, proof of childcare allowance or minimum social benefits, the study certificate or a student declaration (Form F9), the rental contract, and a receipt of the actual housing expenses. A timely submitted application must be received by the competent authority by the third working day of a month to be considered for that month. With this funding, the state administration makes a significant contribution to securing affordable housing and alleviating the burden on lower-income households in Tyrol.
