Rental subsidy for events at the International Meeting Center (IBZ) – Worldwide Science Foundation

The Worldwide Science Foundation supports university events at the International Meeting Center (IBZ) of the guesthouse of the University of Hamburg with a rental subsidy of up to €600 per event. Eligible for funding are exclusively educational institutions of the University of Hamburg that book a conference or club room at the IBZ. The aim of the funding is the reduction of room rental costs, with the subsidy rate set at 50% of the eligible expenses. Applications can be submitted informally at any time; the only requirements are affiliation with the University of Hamburg and a corresponding room booking at the IBZ. Catering and other ancillary costs are not subsidized.

The IBZ offers ideal conditions for conferences, workshops, or seminars – from modern presentation technology to flexible seating arrangements. The central location near the Außenalster and Dammtor train station ensures excellent accessibility within Hamburg and regional transport connections. Interested organizers benefit from the straightforward application process and prompt approval by the University of Hamburg and the Worldwide Science Foundation. By financially relieving rental costs, the realization of scientific encounters and international exchange formats is facilitated and promoted in the long term.
