Membership of the State of Carinthia in the Society for Political Education

The membership of the state of Carinthia in the Austrian Society for Political Education grants educational institutions, non-profit and public organizations throughout Austria access to targeted funding instruments in the field of political adult education. As part of the network, interested parties benefit from participation in learning forums, workshops, training sessions, and courses for adult educators and multipliers. The goal is to strengthen critical awareness as well as to promote independent judgment and political participation. Annually, projects in the member states can be supported with a grant of up to €4,500. Funding is provided equally by the federal states through the membership fees paid and funds from the Federal Ministry for Women, Science and Research. By providing materials on current focal topics and practice-oriented methods, an inspiring environment is created in which groups can exchange ideas on socially relevant issues and expand their competencies.

The funding is aimed at institutions implementing projects in political adult education at the municipal, regional, or state level. A prerequisite for receiving a grant is the timely payment of the annual membership fee to the Austrian Society for Political Education as well as proof of project-related expenses. Only project-related costs are eligible for funding, with nationwide central organizations excluded from the circle of eligible recipients. The application deadline begins upon submission of the invoice after the resolution and continues without time limitation. Through this continuous funding mechanism, educational providers and multipliers are supported in their work in the long term and are given the opportunity to sustainably design and further develop political education offerings.
