Description
Mobile social psychiatric care in Styria enables people with mental illnesses to receive therapeutic support directly in their familiar living environment. As a permanent, open-ended subsidy, the program aims to support independent and integrated living through needs-based home visits. The scope and intensity of mobile therapy are individually determined in a care agreement and regularly reviewed to ensure flexible adaptation to personal needs. With a focus on maintaining existing housing and social relationships, the measure contributes to reducing inpatient stays and placements in full-time care facilities. Funding is provided to entrepreneurial and non-profit providers with the appropriate approval and service contract with the Styrian state government.
The funding is aimed at people with mental illnesses whose outpatient services are insufficient and who require permanent or time-limited social psychiatric care in their own homes. A prerequisite is the existence of an officially approved private disability facility as well as a written service contract with the Styrian state government. Due to the continuously open application process, companies and non-profit organizations can submit funding applications on an ongoing basis. Providers benefit from a stable financial basis and make a significant contribution to psychosocial stabilization, strengthening the autonomy of those affected, and securing long-term quality of life in the familiar environment.
