Description

Mobility for People with Disabilities without Legal Entitlement supports individuals living in Vienna with physical or sensory impairments who do not have a legal entitlement to transport services. Demand-oriented services such as special permits for transport services, travel companions, as well as reimbursement of travel costs for public transport or private cars are funded. Additionally, deaf, blind, and visually impaired persons can access mobility training. The goal is to enable barrier-free participation in everyday life – from trips between the place of residence and social, health, or professional care facilities to leisure activities. Applications can be submitted informally at any time to the Fonds Soziales Wien, provided the applicant has a main residence or habitual residence in Vienna and holds Austrian citizenship or equal status under the Vienna Equal Opportunities Act.

For the funding application, the completed application form for service funding, proof of citizenship or equal status, and proof of main residence must be submitted. After a positive decision, the Fonds Soziales Wien pays the funds directly to the service providers. The funding is unlimited in duration but is based on the individual mobility needs assessment. Through the processing via grants and direct payment to recognized providers, participants benefit from straightforward procedures and quick approval decisions. This program makes an important contribution to sustainably strengthening the mobility and thus the social participation of many people with disabilities in Vienna.
