Description
The funding program for the modernization of rental apartments in Hamburg supports owners and leasehold holders in the energy-efficient and structural modernization of multi-family houses with at least three rented residential units. With a one-time grant, measures such as the optimization of heating systems, the use of renewable energies and sustainable insulation materials, as well as comprehensive attic conversions can be promoted. The grant also covers barrier-free renovation measures, the reconstruction of brick facades, and the installation of modern ventilation systems. The goal is to increase energy efficiency, advance climate protection, and simultaneously create contemporary living space. Applications must be submitted to the Hamburg Investment and Development Bank (IFB Hamburg), which acts as the central approval authority, before the start of the work.
Prerequisites for funding include a valid Hamburg energy certificate, a building permit issued no more than 20 years ago, and the consent of the tenants to the planned modernizations. Only properties within the Hamburg city area are eligible, for which technical minimum requirements are met and the overall financial planning is secured. Companies in economic difficulties or certain sectors are excluded. The amount of the grant depends on the type and scope of the measure and can include both basic modules and optional supplementary components to optimally support individual modernization projects.
