Description
Since 2012, the Kinderturnstiftung Baden-Württemberg has been continuously supporting the establishment and strengthening of Motor Skills Centers – selected vocational schools for social pedagogy in Baden-Württemberg – which train their prospective educators in the elective subject Sports and Movement Pedagogy. The goal is to sustainably anchor movement promotion in preschool age while simultaneously supporting the recruitment of instructors for children's gymnastics. Participants receive both professional guidance and financial subsidies to obtain the instructor license “Parent-Child/Toddler Gymnastics” in cooperation with the Badischer Turner-Bund and the Schwäbischer Turnerbund. The funding can be used for license fees as well as for accompanying training and consulting costs. Furthermore, Motor Skills Centers act as regional contact points for daycare centers to implement practical movement programs locally and ensure equal opportunities in health promotion.
Educational institutions recognized as vocational schools for social pedagogy and offering the elective subject “Sports and Movement Pedagogy” may submit applications at any time. The funding is provided as a non-repayable grant and covers all expenses necessary for qualifying instructors in parent-child and toddler gymnastics. Through cooperation with the Turner federations and the professional support of the Center for School Quality and Teacher Training (ZSL), the foundation sets impulses for a comprehensive movement program in daycare centers and clubs. Interested vocational schools in Baden-Württemberg thus receive sustainable support for qualifying educational professionals and make a decisive contribution to promoting children's health and personality development.
