Move for Meals

The Mary’s Meals Challenge Move for Meals invites sports enthusiasts, teams, schools, clubs, companies, and non-profit organizations throughout Germany to raise funds for daily school meals through running routes, bike tours, hikes, or other activities. Within the thematic areas of education, sports, social issues, and children & youth, this nationwide program offers a straightforward way to get involved: Every movement becomes a building block for greater equal opportunity by supporting hungry children in the poorest countries of the world with every step taken. The concept is simple and effective: A sporting challenge is organized or an existing event is attended, an individual fundraising goal is set, and a total of 22 euros per supported child for one school year is raised through sponsors.

Funding is provided as a share of the collected donations and is open to private individuals, non-profit associations, companies, or interest groups – applications can be submitted at any time. Participation requires only planning your own event or registering for a sporting challenge and coordinating with the Move for Meals team. The goal is to make a tangible social contribution together through movement: In addition to directly supporting school meals, valuable networks and motivation arise in education & training, culture & media, sports, and work sectors.
