Description

The MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026 offer PhD graduates of any nationality the opportunity to significantly advance their research careers at a European or global level. Funding is provided for international, intersectoral, and interdisciplinary mobility projects with a duration of 12 to 36 months. The European Commission covers 100% of eligible costs, including living and mobility allowances, supervision training, as well as contributions to research and infrastructure. Individuals with a completed doctorate and an outstanding track record who meet the mobility requirements and wish to expand their skills – including following reintegration into Europe or displacement due to conflicts – are invited to submit applications by 09.09.2026. A hosting agreement from a host institution is required, supplemented by a CV, project description, and, if applicable, an ethics self-assessment.

The focus of the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships is on strengthening creative potential through advanced training and cross-border collaborations. Expected impacts range from improved career prospects and interdisciplinary approaches among researchers to sustainable knowledge networking, increased attractiveness of Europe for research and innovation, and the promotion of an open science culture. Applications are submitted electronically via the EU Funding & Tenders Portal. Project selection is based on the core evaluation criteria of “Excellence,” “Impact,” and “Quality and Efficiency of Implementation.” The competitive procedure aims to identify and fund projects that offer the best conditions to address future-relevant challenges and to sustainably disseminate knowledge within science and society.
