Description
The MTZ®-MPI Award is aimed at doctoral and postdoctoral researchers of the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine in Münster, whose doctorate was completed no more than two years ago. Private individuals based in North Rhine-Westphalia from the fields of research & innovation as well as science have the opportunity to apply with an outstanding publication based on research results from the institute. The award ceremony, held annually in November, honors excellent research work with a prize of €2,500 and a certificate that highlights the special scientific commitment. The board of trustees, consisting of the institute directors, nominates the candidates and evaluates the submissions according to the criteria of scientific excellence and relevance of the achieved results.
With this award, the MTZ® Foundation aims to support young scientists early in their careers and promote the development of innovative approaches in biomedicine. The funding requirements include proof of a publication whose results were primarily generated at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Biomedicine, as well as the time frame of a maximum of two years after completion of the doctorate. Since there are no fixed application deadlines, interested parties can submit documents continuously to be included in the annual selection round. The award enhances the reputation of emerging talents and contributes to transferring research results into medical practice and sustainably anchoring scientific junior staff in North Rhine-Westphalia.
