Music Promotion (MWK)

The Music Promotion (MWK) of the State of Baden-Württemberg is aimed at orchestras, ensembles, choirs, and festivals dedicated to the cultivation of classical and contemporary music. Interest groups, associations, municipalities, as well as private individuals and public institutions can submit grant applications on an ongoing basis to realize concerts, workshop series, or productions in the cultural sector. The funding program supports a broad spectrum of interpretative forms and musical traditions in both urban and rural areas. Its goal is to strengthen both established ensembles and emerging formations in their artistic diversity and to consolidate regional networks.

Applications can be submitted at any time and offer flexible scope for a wide variety of projects and ensembles. The grant covers parts of production costs, fees for musicians, and technical expenses. Municipalities, church music departments, and committed citizens thus find reliable financial support to initiate cultural impulses locally and promote a vibrant musical life. Through gender-neutral wording, all participants are addressed equally and encouraged to take part. The program is administered by the responsible departments of the regional councils in Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, Freiburg, and Tübingen, ensuring competent advice and prompt processing of incoming applications.
