Description

The AL MANAR Foundation for Islamic Education and Culture in Hamburg supports five-day Muslim holiday camps in the Hamburg region through an ongoing grant program. The camp offerings are aimed at children and adolescents aged 10 to 18 and combine leisure activities with educational and community elements. In various nature-oriented and urban settings, creative workshops, sports activities, and excursions are combined to equally strengthen intercultural skills, democratic engagement, and social competencies. A team of qualified educators, mediators, and experienced supervisors ensures professional guidance, while participants contribute their own ideas and take on responsibility. This balanced mix of play, education, and religious reflection promotes personality development and supports young people in confidently integrating their Muslim identity into a diverse social coexistence.

The funding requirements include the age range of 10 to 18 years, a completed registration, and the written consent of the legal guardians. The grant funding is exclusively directed at non-profit organizations implementing the project and enables families to participate regardless of their financial situation. Through intercultural and religious education as well as communal interaction, the program makes a sustainable contribution to social cohesion. Participants experience intensive impulses for their personal and social development in small groups and simultaneously form friendships across cultural boundaries. The camps thus represent a valuable investment in the future of young people and contribute to greater tolerance and understanding in society.
