Sustainable Business Practices: Environmental Consultations (NÖWTF)

The initiative Sustainable Business Practices: Environmental Consultations (NÖWTF) of the State of Lower Austria strengthens economically viable climate and environmental protection in companies, municipalities, as well as public and non-profit institutions through individually tailored consulting services. Up to 20 consulting days are funded on topics such as energy efficiency, climate protection, environmental management systems, or sustainable corporate financing, with a funding rate between 50% and 75%. The aim is to implement measurable environmental and climate protection measures that go beyond legal minimum requirements. The funding runs from 01.04.2021 to 31.12.2026 and enables transparent, plannable, and cost-efficient implementation of practice-oriented improvement concepts. By involving experts from the regional consultant pool, the economy of Lower Austria benefits from current best practices and proven resource conservation tools.

Eligible for funding are companies of all sizes located in Lower Austria, as well as municipalities, public institutions, and non-profit organizations willing to realize concrete environmental goals. A prerequisite is the commitment to implement measurable measures, such as energy audits, environmental certifications, or climate strategies. Applications can be submitted via the Lower Austria Economic Promotion Portal by 31.12.2026 at the latest. Only consulting costs defined through a formal application and inclusion in the Ökomanagement NÖ are eligible expenses. This covers all relevant subject areas – from emission reduction and waste management to CSR strategies. The goal is sustainable competitiveness of Lower Austrian organizations through practical recommendations and financial relief in the professionalization of environmental and climate protection activities.
