Support for projects and measures that are suitable to sustainably increase the attractiveness of urban and town centers as locations for retail and service businesses, to acquire new customer groups and retain regular customers, as well as to ensure basic supply.

Description
The NAFES funding aims to actively revitalize town and village centers in Lower Austria. Businesses, non-profit organizations, and public institutions receive financial support for infrastructural measures, marketing and cooperation projects, as well as consulting and training services. Funding is provided, among other things, for the construction of parking and bicycle parking spaces, optimization of the sector mix, events organized by advertising associations, and investments to ensure local supply. A prerequisite is that the project contributes on-site to the sustainable increase in the attractiveness of an urban or rural center, attracts new customers, and retains existing regular customers. Applications can be submitted online continuously, with decisions made approximately four times a year.
Up to 30% of the documented costs for infrastructure and marketing measures (max. €100,000) are funded, as well as up to 40% for projects related to local supply (max. €125,000). All sizes of businesses and organizations with project locations in Lower Austria are eligible to apply. A complete funding claim requires submission before project commencement, proof of own funds, a financing plan, existing marketing or overall concepts, and a de minimis declaration. Excluded are, among others, ongoing operating costs, land purchases, catering, and financing costs. Evaluation is based on the criteria of sustainability, financial viability, and overall impact. After a positive funding approval, original invoices and a project report documenting public relations activities must be submitted for accounting. This measure promotes a vibrant, economically strong town center development and ensures future-oriented basic supply.
