Description
The National Park and Area Premium supports the preservation of the unique cultural landscape in the Hohe Tauern National Park throughout Austria. The focus is on supporting the alpine grazing of livestock herds as well as maintaining valuable alpine pasture areas. Designed as a subsidy, the program enables sustainable management of the sensitive high mountain region and thus contributes to the protection of biodiversity, landscape, and traditional management practices. The funding is continuously announced, allowing applicants to submit an application at any time.
Eligible for funding are all natural and legal persons who are owners, users, or leaseholders of a private or communal alpine pasture in the Hohe Tauern National Park. The goal is to secure the continuation of extensive alpine farming and the openness of species-rich mountain meadows through financial relief. Applications are straightforward and without fixed deadlines – ideal for alpine farming enterprises, nature conservation associations, or cooperatives that actively contribute to the preservation of the cultural landscape. Thanks to clear funding criteria and transparent processing through the Salzburg National Park Fund, interested parties can implement their projects promptly and thus make a valuable contribution to environmental and climate protection.
