Description

In Salzburg, the regional contractual nature conservation program provides a continuously available subsidy opportunity for agricultural enterprises, private individuals, companies, cooperatives, and other land managers. Under the themes of environmental/nature conservation, agriculture & rural development, climate protection, and energy efficiency, nature conservation management measures are supported. The goal is the preservation and enhancement of biodiversity in premium-eligible areas of the federal state through proper maintenance, biotope structure establishment, and monitoring. Participation requires concluding a contractual nature conservation agreement with Department 5/05 of the Office of the Salzburg Regional Government as well as participation in the ÖPUL 2023 nature conservation measure. Applications can be submitted at any time, with funding decisions made based on a professional evaluation of project quality, regional benefits, scope of measures, and contribution to biodiversity.

Eligible costs include expenses for maintenance measures, new biotope establishment, control and monitoring costs, consulting, and project preparation. Non-reimbursable costs include real estate acquisitions, debt repayment, and retroactive expenses. For the application, the completed application form, the multiple agriculture application, the project confirmation from the regional office, as well as seed and condition verifications must be submitted. Applicants benefit from a clearly regulated procedure that combines environmental and climate protection goals with sustainable management and supports agricultural income.
