Description
The Charité Foundation supports public institutions based in Berlin with a grant of up to €20,000 for scientific networking events. Funding is provided for both small-scale workshops and retreats as well as symposia and expert discussions, provided that at least two previously or currently funded individuals from different organizational units of Charité jointly submit an application. The goal is to intensify professional exchange and strengthen interdisciplinary collaborations within the projects supported by the Foundation. Eligible applicants are scientists who submit a completed form via the online portal no later than four months before the event start date, including the event concept, cost calculation, and proof of previous funding. Personnel costs, material expenses, and travel costs are considered eligible expenditures.
The evaluation focuses on the originality and quality of the concept, the impact on existing funding, and the scope of networking. Positive consideration is also given to the involvement of external cooperation partners and the benefit to life sciences and university medicine in Berlin. Upon positive decision, the grant is awarded as third-party funding to the research institution, which is responsible for managing and administering all funds. The Foundation recommends early consultation to assess the feasibility of the project and ensure smooth implementation. This additional funding aims to foster network growth, create synergies, and sustainably enhance the overall effectiveness of Charité funding.
