Next Steps

Next Steps is a funding initiative launched by the Crespo Foundation that provides sustainable support to professional dance practitioners in Hesse from 2024 to 2026. The program aims to assist artists, ensembles, collectives, venues, festivals, production offices, cultural institutions, and dance networks based or residing in Hesse at all stages of their artistic development. Through long-term funding instruments, the working conditions are to be optimized, production structures strengthened, and artistic concepts further developed. The initiative relies on continuous dialogue among all participants to promote synergies within the regional dance scene and to collaboratively address relevant topics in workshops and networking meetings.

Both individual artistic projects and measures focusing on improved production conditions are eligible for funding. Grants range between €25,000 and €50,000 per project. Eligibility requires professional activity in the field of dance as well as proof of residence or establishment in Hesse. Currently, there is no application deadline; however, interested parties are encouraged to prepare for future funding rounds. With this program, the Crespo Foundation underscores its philosophy of providing long-term support to cultural initiatives, unlocking creative potential, and contributing to ensuring that the Hessian dance landscape remains diverse and sustainable in the future.
