Funding objective
Promotion of investments and measures in the areas of environment, energy, and climate protection in church buildings and parish centers in Lower Austria, in particular the installation of photovoltaic systems, optimization of heating systems, thermal renovation, and transition to highly efficient LED lighting.

Description
The program supports church institutions in Lower Austria with forward-looking investments in the areas of environment, energy, and climate protection. Eligible measures include the installation of photovoltaic systems including charging stations and storage, the optimization of heating systems (hydraulics, controls, insulation), connection to biomass district heating systems, or the installation of heat pump heating. Comprehensive thermal renovations (insulation, window replacement) as well as the switch to highly efficient LED lighting are also eligible for funding. Through these measures, the project actively contributes to reducing energy demand, increasing independence from fossil fuels, and setting an example with church buildings in the public sphere.
Eligible to apply are all non-profit organizations, namely parishes as well as owners and maintainers of churches, prayer houses, parish farms, parish centers, and educational institutions whose publicly accessible buildings are located in Lower Austria. A prerequisite for funding is an independent energy consultation in Lower Austria (up to four hours), the report of which must be submitted together with the fully completed application form, investment proofs (invoices, payment receipts), and simple photographic documentation by no later than 31.12.2026. Support is provided in the form of a grant amounting to 30% of eligible costs, with fixed maximum funding limits per measure, and the total funding per applicant may not exceed €15,000.
