Description

The Lower Austria Student Dormitory Funding supports companies, non-profit organizations, and public institutions based in Austria in the renovation, modernization, and expansion of existing student dormitories in Lower Austria. Only costs directly associated with the project are eligible for funding; financing costs and ongoing operating expenses are excluded. An application can be submitted for only one individual student dormitory at a time, which at the time of application must demonstrably accommodate students from Lower Austria attending a public university, private university, university of applied sciences, or teacher training academy. Funding is granted in the form of a non-repayable grant, with applications accepted continuously and decisions made twice yearly (end of May and end of November).

The submission must include detailed information about the applicant, an overview of the students residing in the dormitory as of the reference date (total number and number from Lower Austria), a project description including objectives and expected impacts, as well as a total cost breakdown (including any cost estimates). Additionally, proof of financing, an implementation schedule, annual financial statements or proof of assets of the applicant, association statutes (if applicable), and copies of all required permits must be attached. The decision on funding is made by the Finance Department of the Office of the Lower Austria State Government, which also serves as the formal contact point. This funding measure contributes to an attractive and contemporary housing infrastructure for students and makes an important contribution to the long-term securing of housing at university locations in Lower Austria.
