Description
The Lower Austria Apprentice Support is aimed at apprentices who have had their primary residence in Lower Austria for at least six months and can present a valid apprenticeship or training contract (BAG or LFBAG). The goal is to relieve young people from low-income families, compensate for travel disadvantages, and reward outstanding achievements during training. Applicants whose total monthly family income does not exceed the specified maximum limits receive a monthly allowance of € 120.00. Additionally, a one-time talent grant is available for outstanding school grades ("Very Good") or an award in the final apprenticeship examination. Applications have been accepted continuously since March 1, 2020, as long as budget funds are available.
The following documents must be submitted for the funding: apprenticeship or training contract, current wage or salary slip, income proofs (e.g., tax assessment, family allowance notice), confirmation of primary residence registration, and for the talent grant, the vocational school or examination certificate. Approval is generally granted for a period of up to twelve months but only extends until the start of the next apprenticeship year, after which a new application can be submitted. The apprentice allowance is paid monthly in arrears. Applications are accepted until the funding volume is exhausted; inquiries and further information are available through the responsible department of the State of Lower Austria.
