Lower Austria Project Funding for Women, Families, and Generations

With the Lower Austria Project Grants for Women, Families, and Generations, the State of Lower Austria provides an unlimited, directly disbursed grant opportunity. Applicants from companies, non-profit organizations, interest groups, associations, and public institutions can continuously submit projects in the fields of social affairs, promotion of women, as well as work & social issues. The catalogue of measures includes socio-political foundational work, educational events, innovative models for families and women-specific initiatives, as well as intergenerational cooperation. Examples range from mentoring programs and “Girls & Technology” activities to projects on violence prevention and women’s health, up to the promotion of women in politics and leadership positions. A formal application and a detailed financing plan are required for the application process, and applicants are not required to contribute financially.

The grant specifically supports measures to raise awareness of gender equality and to promote equal opportunities for women and men in the State of Lower Austria. In particular, innovative projects that strengthen intergenerational dialogue or expand networks are given consideration. Disbursement takes place after positive evaluation of the submitted documents and is based on the provisions of the Lower Austria Family Act, the Lower Austria Senior Citizens Act, as well as the General Guidelines for Funding of the State. This funding aims to create sustainable structures, implement educational offerings, and promote intergenerational coexistence. The funds are awarded as direct grants and are available without a time limit. This grant makes an important contribution to sustainably improving the quality of life in the region and strengthening social participation.
