Description

The Rhineland Cultural Landscape Foundation offers a sustainable solution in North Rhine-Westphalia for those obligated to provide compensation and intervention perpetrators from the economy, public sector, private individuals, as well as non-profit organizations. Within the framework of the "Eco-Accounts and Land Pools" program, already implemented conservation measures are made available as evaluated eco-points, and future compensation areas are designated in a land pool. This enables the efficient fulfillment of legal compensation requirements for projects such as development plans, excavations, or municipal initiatives. Furthermore, advanced and permanent species protection measures (CEF/FCS) – for example, for skylark, little owl, or lapwing – can be facilitated. The continuously available grants aim to promote biodiversity, secure natural habitats in the long term, and thereby contribute to climate protection and energy efficiency.

Farmers and other land providers in the Rhineland have the opportunity to include suitable areas in the pool and thus implement important conservation measures. A prerequisite for funding is the location within the Rhineland. Interested parties submit the completed data sheet for a non-binding land offer to have their land recorded in the foundation’s database. Once integration into a specific project takes place, coordination of the next steps is conducted with the land managers or owners. The flexible application periods allow for offers and inquiries at any time. In doing so, the program supports compensation regulations in the Rhineland and strengthens the development of an effective land pool as a basis for future conservation measures.
