Description
The funding partnership "Online Blog Symposia" of the Foundation Science and Democracy is aimed nationwide at private individuals, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations that wish to realize scientific discussion formats in the field of the law of democratic will formation. In cooperation with the Institute for German and International Party Law and Party Research (PRUF) as well as the Verfassungsblog, online blog symposia are continuously supported, bringing together debate contributions from legal and political science. The sponsorship covers all phases from conception through technical implementation to publication, thereby contributing to the strengthening of parliaments, free elections, and parties as core mechanisms of democratic discourse. Particularly addressed are scholars as well as institutions of political education and discourse promotion that use the format to set innovative impulses in the fields of media, digitalization, research & innovation, labor & social affairs, and engagement for social cohesion.
The Foundation Science and Democracy is an independent, non-profit institution based in Kiel, established in 1992. Its activities aim to promote liberal-democratic fundamental principles in accordance with the Basic Law. Core activities of the foundation include the Institute for Parliamentary Research (IParl), collaboration with the Institute for Security Policy at the University of Kiel (ISPK), as well as the publication platforms pw-portal and the professional journal SIRIUS. Through the partnership in the Online Blog Symposium, a modern contribution to science communication is made, which sustainably enriches democratic will formation in science and the public sphere.
