Description
The state of Upper Austria grants families a subsidy of €150 per student and semester for additional extracurricular tutoring in the subjects of German, Mathematics, English, as well as a second foreign language. The aim of this measure is to compensate for learning deficits, promote good academic performance, and avoid negative final grades. Funding is provided for students of compulsory school age from grades 1 to 9 who have their main residence in Upper Austria. The cost coverage is provided in the form of a voucher, which can only be redeemed at designated professional tutoring institutions. A 100% funding rate ensures that low-income households can also benefit from the support.
Applications must be submitted exclusively online by legal guardians or school administrations and are possible until February 28 for the winter semester and until October 31 for the summer semester. A prerequisite is a confirmation from the school regarding the need for support and the provision of all relevant data in the online form. After voucher redemption, the tutoring institution settles directly with the Family Department of the state of Upper Austria. Funding applications are processed in the order of receipt; the program runs until the funding budget is exhausted or, at the latest, until July 31, 2028.
