Description
The funding program "Orthopedic Care and Other Assistive Devices" of the State of Burgenland grants subsidies to private individuals with disabilities who can prove their main residence in Burgenland, covering costs for prostheses, orthopedic, and other assistive devices. Expenses for repair or replacement of unusable or lost equipment are also supported. A prerequisite is a verified degree of disability and Austrian citizenship, asylum entitlement, or permanent residence of at least five years. With this continuously open funding opportunity, the Burgenland Equal Opportunities Act aims to enhance functional capacity and ease the consequences of ailments or impairments in everyday life.
Eligible for funding are people with disabilities – including Austrian citizens, asylum beneficiaries, and permanently settled foreigners – who submit all required documentation with their application. Income statements for the last six months, a specialist medical confirmation of the necessity of the assistive device, a current clinical-psychological report or (specialist) medical findings, as well as at least two cost estimates for expenses from EUR 1,800 are required. Proof of already granted subsidies or rejections from other cost bearers must also be provided. Thanks to the ongoing submission option without an application deadline, every eligible person can flexibly apply for support and thus actively contribute to greater participation and self-determination.
