Pangea – Mathematics Competition

The Pangea Mathematics Competition is a nationally established award that annually brings together students of all ages and school types. Under the patronage of the Foundation for Education and Training, the competition sparks fascination for mathematical questions and promotes logical thinking skills through several rounds. The goal is to activate existing competencies with diverse, creative tasks and to inspire even those who have had little contact with mathematics so far. Through the decentralized preliminary rounds held at schools and educational institutions, followed by regional events and a grand final, a dynamic learning environment is created where participants can puzzle together and learn from one another.

All learners interested in demonstrating their mathematical abilities are welcome: an informal registration via the respective educational institution is sufficient to be eligible to participate. Evaluation is based on the points achieved as well as the accuracy and creativity of solutions to challenging problems. Award ceremonies recognize outstanding achievements in the individual age groups, with emphasis on the experience and recognition. The funding period begins on 01.10.2025 and ends on 01.09.2026; registrations are continuously accepted. As an open funding opportunity, the program is equally aimed at private individuals as well as schools and other educational providers. Through this competition, the Foundation makes a sustainable contribution to talent development in STEM fields and strengthens the joy of mathematics across all school boundaries.
