Panter Internship (taz Panter Foundation)

The Panter Volunteership of the taz Panter Foundation promotes journalistic training and further education nationwide for underrepresented individuals in editorial teams. In an 18-month program, participants learn the craft of journalism at taz while simultaneously bringing new perspectives into the newsroom. The target group particularly includes individuals who have been scarcely represented in editorial teams so far – such as women with a migration background or those without an academic career. As a grant project in the fields of media, culture, and further education, the volunteership enables direct entry into emerging journalism and supports professional development through practical training and mentoring.

With regard to the topics of media diversity and inclusion, the program pursues the overarching goal of making the composition of journalistic staff more sustainable. Participants gain in-depth insights into research, text production, and editorial workflows, while taz is enriched content-wise by the diversity of its volunteers. The current application phase has already ended; a new call for applications is expected in spring 2026. Interested individuals can apply privately and benefit from this unique funding opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to a more inclusive media landscape.
