Passenger Transport (State of Tyrol)

The funding program "Passenger Transport" supports children and adolescents with disabilities in Tyrol in their daily travel to and from inclusive care services or boarding schools. The goal is to enhance the mobility of children who use a boarding school place according to § 10 para. 1 lit. b TTHG, or those attending integration groups in nurseries, kindergartens, and after-school care according to § 2 para. 6 LGBl 48/2010. Eligible are the contractually agreed transportation costs by authorized passenger transport providers; this is provided in the form of a subsidy for private individuals as well as public institutions. Funding can be granted continuously for up to five years per application and covers transport between the place of residence and the care facility. The Tyrolean state government additionally grants supplements for full-day and year-round services as well as catering services.

To apply, a fully completed TTHG application form and proof of eligibility – granting of a benefit according to § 10 para. 1 lit. b TTHG or attendance of an integration group according to § 2 para. 6 LGBl 48/2010 – are required. Applications can be submitted at any time; benefits are granted no earlier than from the month of application submission. Applications are to be submitted to the State Department for Inclusion and Child and Youth Welfare; proof that the transport was carried out by an authorized passenger transporter is also required. A decision will be made promptly to ensure smooth participation in the inclusive care service. Further information on application procedures and forms is available from the Tyrolean state government.
