Description
The funding program “Perspective Danube” of the Baden-Württemberg Foundation is aimed at non-profit organizations based in Baden-Württemberg that implement innovative projects in the fields of education, culture, and civil society in the Danube region. It supports initiatives that promote intercultural exchange and align with the objectives of the EU Danube Region Strategy. Special emphasis is placed on sustainable, forward-looking, and impactful projects involving at least one cooperation partner from a Danube region country. The funding comprises two components – Funding Component A for small projects up to 10,000 euros and Funding Component B for larger projects up to 50,000 euros. Additionally, projects related to Ukraine can be submitted separately to respond to acute emergencies.
The program’s core focus is strengthening the cross-border network, which serves as a key driver for exchange and social change in the Danube region. Not only the implementation of innovative education and cultural projects is supported, but also measures to assist disadvantaged and marginalized groups. Eligible expenses primarily include personnel costs and material expenses, while capital goods, real estate acquisition, or construction measures are excluded. Financing is provided as a purpose-bound grant covering 75% to 85% of the total project costs, with a corresponding applicant co-financing requirement.
The evaluation of funding applications is based on various criteria such as the level of innovation, contribution to the implementation of the EU Danube Region Strategy, high quality of cooperation, and the sustainable impact of the measure. Important documents such as the tax exemption certificate, a detailed financial plan, and a program draft must be submitted with the application. Through this comprehensive support, projects can fully realize their impact and thus make a significant contribution to the further development of the Danube region – whether through innovative educational offerings, cultural events, or the establishment of sustainable civil society structures.
