Description

The Pilot Program Heimat.Engagiert supports up to 40 projects annually in Bavaria with a one-time fixed grant of €2,000 each, focusing on innovative approaches to the preservation and communication of local history and regional cultural forms. Funded projects are characterized by a clear local reference and a creative approach, such as publications of particular heritage value, exhibitions, or multimedia presentations. A holistic concept of "Heimat" (homeland) is central, encompassing both traditional and new forms of representation. The duration of approved projects is a maximum of 12 months, and applications can be submitted online by the deadlines of March 31 and October 31 each year.

Eligible applicants are natural and legal persons under private and public law operating outside the municipal sector, provided that no primarily commercial interests are pursued. A minimum own contribution of 10% of eligible expenses is required. Eligible costs include personnel expenses and material costs directly related to the project; excluded are construction and renovation projects, new acquisitions of furniture, clothing, instruments, or typical club equipment, as well as ongoing operating and personnel costs and voluntary services. Evaluation is based on the degree of innovation, local relevance, and the share of own funds. For the application, a completed application form, a project description, and proof of own funds are required. Approval is granted by the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance and for Homeland at its discretionary authority and within the framework of available budgetary funds.
