Award Ceremony / Sponsorship Awards & Scholarships (Foundation "Youth Makes Music Lower Saxony")

The "Jugend musiziert Niedersachsen" Foundation annually honors outstanding musical talents from Lower Saxony with prize money and scholarships. The focus is on three forms of recognition: annual scholarships for continuous support over 12 months, chamber music promotion awards to finance ensemble projects, and the prize for the best performance in the state and federal "Jugend musiziert" competitions. The festive award ceremony takes place as part of a special concert in the Small Broadcasting Hall of NDR Hannover, where the awardees showcase their skills and receive a professional recording of their performance. By combining recognition, financial support, and an artistic platform, the program aims to sustainably promote musical excellence and strengthen young talents in their artistic development.

Eligible for funding are private individuals residing in Lower Saxony who have achieved the highest score in the state or federal "Jugend musiziert" competition. Selection is based on the achieved score, overall competition performance, and the composition of the chamber music ensembles. Expenses for prize money, travel costs, chamber music lessons, and masterclasses are supported. Thanks to the ongoing allocation process, the program flexibly adapts to annual competition results and enables young musicians to invest long-term in their artistic profile. Interested parties submit their competition results to the foundation committee, which decides on the awarding of scholarships and promotion prizes, thereby effectively supporting the musical youth in Lower Saxony.
