Description
The PRIO1 Climate Award 2025 honors young committed individuals aged 16 to 30 throughout Germany who actively contribute to climate protection with original ideas and projects. As part of the PRIO1 Climate Event, three cash prizes totaling €4,500 will be awarded: €2,000 for 1st place, €1,500 for 2nd place, and €1,000 for 3rd place. Awarded are concepts that demonstrate both innovative approaches as well as concrete climate protection impacts and high feasibility. In addition to financial support, the award offers the opportunity to become part of the PRIO1 Climate Network and to connect with like-minded individuals and experts from environmental and nature conservation, energy efficiency, and social engagement. The goal is to make the commitment of young people in the field of sustainability visible and to promote the exchange of experiences gained.
Eligible to apply are private individuals in Germany who have developed an independent project idea with demonstrable climate protection impact. A meaningful project description is required for submission; detailed documents for further verification are not requested. The jury evaluates primarily the actual climate protection impact and the sustainability of the projects, alongside their degree of innovation. From spring 2026, interested parties can submit their materials via the PRIO1 Climate Network platform. The award is presented by the Climate Foundation for Citizens, which operates the KLIMA ARENA in Sinsheim, an interactive learning and experience center for sustainable action. The project is supported by foundations and regional partners to sustainably promote and inspire young pioneers in climate protection over the long term.
