Description
The program accreditation by the ZEvA Foundation offers state and state-recognized universities, universities of applied sciences, and vocational academies throughout Germany the opportunity to subject their bachelor's, master's, diploma, and doctoral programs to external quality assurance. As an agency approved by the Accreditation Council since 2000, ZEvA continuously supports individual, bundled, and model accreditation procedures in accordance with the State Treaty on Study Program Accreditation and the MRVO. Higher education institutions benefit from expert evaluations conducted by experienced reviewers – including university professors, practitioners, and students – as well as from a transparent process that includes contract conclusion, self-reporting, on-site evaluations, and report preparation. If required, applicants can book practical seminars on application submission and an accompanying quality improvement process to minimize conditions and optimize study program concepts at an early stage.
For the application, a self-report according to the ZEvA template, a module handbook, and evidence of examination and admission regulations must be submitted. Formal criteria of the MRVO, the quality and coherence of the curriculum, as well as the composition of the reviewer group are incorporated into the evaluation. Applications can be submitted at any time; the decision on accreditation is made by the Accreditation Council based on the ZEvA accreditation report. Through this procedure, the ZEvA Foundation supports higher education institutions in their quality development, enhances transparency for prospective students, and ensures the comparability of German academic degrees in the national and European context.
