Program Area Learning & Participation – Schöpflin Foundation

The Schöpflin Foundation supports nonprofit organizations and educational institutions nationwide within the program area of Learning & Participation that implement innovative educational approaches at schools and other learning venues. The goal is to initiate collaborative processes with educational staff to develop forward-looking forms of learning and systematically strengthen democratic participation. The focus is on the qualification of teachers and multipliers to enable all children and young people—regardless of social or ethnic background—to access modern learning methods and co-determination. As a grant provider, the Foundation supports experiments and continuous development, with applications accepted at any time.

Projects are funded that bring external impulses into everyday school life, such as through training programs, participatory workshops, or digital learning labs. Youth participation is of particular importance: young people should take responsibility early on and become effective agents themselves. The quality of relationships and respectful interaction are central, as they form the foundation for creative learning environments. The ongoing funding opportunities provide nonprofit initiatives with long-term planning security to sustainably anchor internal change processes. Through this support, a network of future-oriented educational projects grows, inspiring schools across Germany and strengthening social cohesion.
