Description
Program Line IV "Mini Projects – On Site and Here in Germany" of the West-Eastern Divan Foundation promotes intercultural exchange through one-day small-scale events that provide information about the Foundation’s partner countries. Interested associations, clubs, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and companies based in Germany can receive grants of up to €500 for this purpose. Funding is primarily provided for panel discussions, lecture and concert evenings, as well as similar formats aimed at conveying regional studies, culture, and social developments of the partner regions. The funding covers up to 75% of the total costs and includes material expenses, domestic travel and accommodation costs (max. €30 per night), as well as speaker fees (up to €120 per person).
A minimum own contribution of 25% of the planned expenses must be demonstrated for funding. Applications must be submitted using the official "Mini Projects" application form and must be received by the Foundation no later than four weeks before the event date. A cost and financing plan as well as, for first-time applications, an excerpt from the association or commercial register including the statutes must be attached. International travel costs, fees paid to board members or employees of the applicant institution, as well as multi-day or purely international projects are not eligible for funding. Decisions on approval are made promptly, provided funds are available. The grant is paid out after successful accounting with submitted individual receipts and proof of use. The Foundation must be acknowledged as the funder in all accompanying media.
