Description

PROJECT:CULTURE – Cultural Work in Schools is an annual foundation program of the Amanda Erich Hansjürgen Neumayer Foundation that supports cultural school projects in grades 7 to 10 in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. With a funding amount of up to €10,000 per school year, it aims to enable participatory and innovative learning processes as well as to sustainably strengthen cultural education. The duration is twelve months and focuses on rethinking teaching: learners and teachers jointly initiate projects, carry them out, and evaluate them, without a predetermined outcome being the primary focus. Applications are only possible via the foundation’s online application tool until March 31, 2026, and are reviewed in an annual call for proposals.

Non-profit educational institutions of all school types with digital statutes and tax exemption certificates may apply. Project-related material costs, fees for artists and professionals, as well as technical equipment and materials are eligible for funding. The funding rate is 100%. Key criteria include the level of innovation, pedagogical quality and learning process, the sustainability of the project, and a clearly structured project budget plan. The responsible expert jury reviews all documents after submission and issues a binding funding commitment by early July at the latest. Interested schools can use this grant to provide cultural impulses that go beyond regular teaching and open up new methodological learning paths for both students and teachers.
