Description

The project “Missionary Service for a Limited Time” (MaZ) of the Pastor Walter Waldschütz Foundation enables young adults aged 18 to 30 from the Miesbach deanery as well as the Kolping district Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen-Miesbach to undertake a six- to twelve-month voluntary service in Argentina. Participants work in Catholic parish and Kolping projects, primarily in a children’s village in the province of Misiones. After intensive preparation and Spanish courses, deployment opportunities arise in social pastoral care, indigenous schools, adult education centers, or agricultural student initiatives. Continuous support is provided by experienced project managers and Argentine supervisors. Close cooperation with the local Kolping organization promotes intercultural encounters as well as professional guidance and regular reflection sessions.

MaZ strengthens the personal development of young volunteers and contributes to solidarity, justice, and peace. Requirements for application include knowledge of German and Spanish, residence in the funding area, and willingness to work in a pastoral context. A CV and a letter of motivation must be submitted; selection is based on written documents and a personal interview. Ongoing applications are welcome, but submission by the end of January is recommended to optimally plan the departure start in autumn.
